Details:
On August 2, 1968, MM1 Albrecht was participating in a combat sweep in Chau Doc Province, RVN when he detonated a booby-trapped grenade. Albrecht suffered massive internal injuries and was evacuated to the sick bay facilities aboard the barracks ship USS Colleton (APB-36). Despite emergency life-saving treatment, Albrecht succumbed to his injuries.
